Job Description:

The Mission:

Conduct comprehensive, effective and result-orientated training programs; the fundamentals of culinary arts equal to that of the best Culinary Schools for Cooks, Assistant Cooks and Trainees prior to their assignment to the company’s fleet of ships. Develop, implement and execute training programs for theory, techniques and hands-on experience under the direction and support of the Culinary Operations and Training Department.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the on-going development of the overall culinary training programs, analysis, job / task studies to determine training and development opportunities onboard to improve the level of performance within the Galley Department.

Educate managers and supervisors on applicable training requirements and available training opportunities.

Conduct additional training sessions to include: new employee orientation, on-the-job training, refresher training, promotional development and operational courses.

Analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of training programs, training guides, curriculum.

Work with recruitment offices and agencies to develop consistent new hire orientation programs. Develop a positive rapport / relationship with company culinary academies world-wide.

Understand and utilize an instructional systems design methodology, provide support and feedback in the development of new course material.

Coach instructors for effectiveness of training, delivery of training, and on-the-job coaching. Test trainees to measure progress, evaluate effectiveness of training.

Understand, follow and enforce all Safety, Environmental and Quality Management policies of the company.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Culinary Arts.
Chef by trade with a passion for food, cooking and education.
Experience in a training environment with proficiency of instructional methods and training techniques, including curriculum design, learning theory, and group and individual teaching techniques, platform / presentation skills.
High energy, hands-on approach, able to work with all levels of employees in a diverse workforce, leadership ability, self-motivated and self-directed.
Enjoy fast paced worldwide travel.

Salary: $3000 per month, room / board / travel expenses, 401(k) with company contributions, flexible health benefit program.
