Job Description:
Position:To ensure that the food outlets run smooth and efficiently in accordance with the Cruise Line policies and service standards; to ensure complete guest satisfaction; to create an overall pleasant dining atmosphere and experience and to maintain the standard of all food outlets to ensure that they are operating according to company and USPH policies.
Qualifications:
Fluent English and additional language – desirable
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Knowledge of Micros preferred
Outgoing personality, open minded and flexible
Strong leadership skills, excellent organizational and administrative skills.
Responsibilities:
- Train and develop the team members’ technical skills and service delivery according to company standards.
- Supervise all staff, ensuring duties are performed to standard. Provides daily briefings with Restaurant Staff
- Develop and supervise the work schedules and overtime sheets for restaurant staff. Develop and supervises a fair and efficient rotation for the restaurant staff
- Supervise all requisition of sundries, consumables, silverware, glassware and china. Supervise general cleaning.
- Ensure that all 'Guests' inquiries and complaints are acted on promptly. Participate in budget preparation as required by Food and Beverage Manager. Conduct staff performance interviews for all restaurant staff.
- Maintain discipline and ensure ship’s rules and regulations are adhered to.
Experience:
Previous Maitre D’ experience in five-star operation; Hotel, Restaurant or Ship. Excellent knowledge international cuisine. Strong knowledge of wine or Sommelier experience preferred.
Summary:
The Maitre D' will provide service coverage as a floating Maitre D' in the food and beverage outlets in The World's fine restaurants, with a four month on and two month off rotation paid annually.
(7 days a week, accommodation meals and uniform supplied and laundered.)
