Vigo Cruises - Cruise Ship Employment Scam

We have received many emails about cruise ship job scam operated under the name of Vigo Cruises, as a reaction to our article about cruise employment scam schemes. Here is an interesting email from Daniel Fenton:

Hello,

A. & S. Consultants specialize in Technical and marine recruitment (including crew). We also did some investigation into Vigo Cruises and found that they were a scam.

Alarm bells rang when we research the address and found out that it was not a true address.

Also we notice that they used photo's of cruise ships that are from well-known cruise lines on websites they have created. We found out that they were not a registered company and contacted the Malaysian High Commission and Malaysian Immigration Service.

At the beginning of this year they contacted us again with a different name, "Mutus Cruises". Email reads:

Lot 788 jalana baesar
Kuching Sarawak
MALAYSIA
Tel/ +6012 2964213 Fax/ +60887586921
Web :WWW.MUTUSCRUISES.COM
Email: cruisework@gmail.com , kokorod@go.com

We are recruiting qualified candidates for shipboard jobs, In addition to 50-75 initial hires from the Puget area/carribean, We expect to provide ongoing hiring opportunities for qualified personnel. We are seeking applicants to work on the new year-round MALAYSIA flaged Passenger ship.

If you intend to work with our Company in any POSITION, please contact MR ANDREW M WONG immediately with your personal details at the email address above and below

These people plan to keep on scamming people. I also sent a message to crew file to warn people. We also managed to warn out candidates before getting people to pay the $400.00 US for immigration. As part of our policy we investigate before we send out candidates.

Regards

Daniel Fenton
